{"id":303,"date":"2023-04-18T21:07:27","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T21:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cares.gov.bs\/?page_id=303"},"modified":"2023-04-18T21:07:27","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T21:07:27","slug":"financial-assistance-for-prosthetics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cares.gov.bs\/?page_id=303","title":{"rendered":"Financial Assistance for Prosthetics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>Disabled persons in need of prosthetic limbs, who are unable to afford such prosthetics, can apply for financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><a>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Need a prosthetic limb.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be Bahamian.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be without any financial assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Process<\/strong><a>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant visits the Disability Affairs Division Office and requests assistance from the Social Services Representative (SSR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The applicant is interviewed by the SSR to complete the Intake and Social History Report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Intake and Social History Report is reviewed by a committee and a recommendation is made.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The applicant is informed of the recommendation made about whether or not (s)he qualifies for the service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This service can be accessed at the following location:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Disability Affairs Division<\/strong><br>8th Terrace Centerville<br>Collins Ave<br>Nassau<br>New Providence<br>The Bahamas<br>Tel.
