Burial Assistance

The Burial Assistance Program offers financial aid for individuals requiring it for a family member’s funeral.
The funeral home receives payment for the financial support directly. This assistance can only be given to an applicant once per 12 months.

HOW TO APPLY

The candidate must be making at least the minimum pay.
Being a citizen or permanent resident of the Bahamas.
Be older than 18 years old.
Be the household’s head.
Provide a pay stub, a letter of employment or termination, and a valid passport for the household’s head.
Valid Head of Household NIB smart card.
Death certificate for a family member who has passed away.
Send a letter from the funeral home outlining the price of the services.
May need a Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree or legal separation documents for spouse.
